Weeknight Baked Ziti

True baked ziti is a pretty time consuming dish to make. Between physical therapies, housework, entertaining a 2 year old, and scheduling doctors visits, many times I don’t have time during the week for an overcomplicated dish. This simplified take on baked ziti is both delicious, easy to make, and fairly fast. Of course you can always opt to make your own sauces, but that makes it a whole lot more complicated😉.

This is on my husband’s favorite dinners list.

1 (24oz) jar of spaghetti sauce

1/2 (14.5oz) jar of alfredo sauce

1/2 box of penne pasta

1lb hot sausage

1/2 cup mozzarella

1/4 cup parmesan

1tbsp garlic powder

1/2 tbsp onion powder

2 tsp Italian seasoning

Preheat oven to 375 F

Cook pasta according to directions to al dente

In skillet, add sausage and spices. Cook thoroughly

Pour spaghetti sauce and alfredo sauce in pasta pot, and stir until well combined. Add sausage and toss together.

Dump pasta mixture into a 9×13 baking dish.

Sprinkle cheeses over the top, and bake until cheese is bubbling. (About 15-20 minutes)

Serve, and enjoy!
